![]() A little taste of New York
'Brooklyn Bridge', print on stone
This week I installed one of my photographs at Bill's Bar, part of the delicious Huxtaburger, on Smith St, Fitzroy. Printed over multiple stone panels and framed in recycled hardwood fencing (saved from John's property in Cranbourne, Victoria), the piece looks great next to the sculptural timber wine racks at Bill's. If you're in the neighbourhood drop by and be sure to sample a yummy burger.
Re-prints are available - contact me at OnStone - nicole@onstone.com.au

Stop Motion
A short stop motion video I created using pencil, a rubber and a beautiful stone art panel from OnStone. Thank you to The Cat Empire for their kind permission to use 'The Wine Song'.

Watercolour and Ink, folding sketchbook, Arctic Circle, 2010
In the fading Arctic light at dusk, at a time when there is little more than four hours of 'darkness' each night, I began to unravel the vast landscape of Canada on my first night on the tundra. With materials at hand, rugged up and alone in the landscape, the valley and the distant mountains provided the perfect subject.

![]() The evolution of an artwork
'The River Wife', watercolour on arches paper.
'I have walked beside the river all my life and listened to its music. I have climbed to the reaches where rivers are born and I have swum in all the lakes that rest in the hands of these mountains. I have watched lakes filled with sky, hurried by wind, hidden by mist, whispering in rain. Lakes that overflowed into one great river that slipped away from the mountains.'
Extract 'The River Wife', Heather Rose.
